Imagine you are wearing magic glasses. When you look around you with these glasses, you still see the real world, where you are, but there is also additional content/media or information that appears in the air around you as if anchored on the ground or fixed on top of objects in your reality. For example, you might see a dragon on your table in front of you; arrows drawn on the ground showing the path in the street. AR adds virtual things to the real human world through a screen (glasses, phone)

By displaying 3D objects, scenes, and situations in real-time context, it reduces the user’s cognitive load, making it easier to understand, act, and make decisions.
